What a private Argentina journey costs, and what moves the price

Most operators at this price will not publish a number. Here is ours, and what sits behind it.

Updated September 2026

The four numbers

Nine days, Mendoza and Buenos Aires: from $9,900 per person.

Twelve days adding Salta and Cafayate: from $15,500 per person.

Twelve days adding Bariloche: from $15,500 per person.

Sixteen days across all four regions: from $21,500 per person.

All per person, based on two travellers sharing. Larger parties reduce the per-person price — the cost of a guide and a vehicle divides across more people. Solo travel is quoted individually, because almost none of the cost halves.

What the number contains

Domestic flights in economy, named leg by leg in the itinerary rather than described as "internal flights".

Private airport transfers and all scheduled ground transport throughout.

The hotels and lodges described in the route, or comparable properties if something changes.

Daily breakfast, and every lunch and dinner identified as included in the day-to-day.

All scheduled winery visits and tastings, the private welcome asado, the Buenos Aires city tour and the tango performance.

A dedicated Travel Director for the whole journey.

What it does not

International flights to and from Argentina.

Meals and drinks not listed in the itinerary.

Gratuities for guides, drivers, hotel teams and restaurant staff.

Personal spending, and optional experiences not in the confirmed itinerary.

That list is deliberately short. A long exclusions list usually means the headline number is not the real one.

Why sixteen days is not twice nine

Nine days is $9,900 and sixteen is $21,500 — more than double for less than double the time. The reason is that the extra week is the expensive week.

The nine-day journey covers two regions with one internal flight. The sixteen-day covers four regions with four internal flights, two separate Buenos Aires stays so the routing works, and a Travel Director on the payroll for a fortnight rather than a week.

The per-day cost is roughly flat. The number of moving parts is not.

How payment works

Nothing is charged when you ask. We check availability with the hotels, guides and wineries first, then confirm a price.

Once confirmed, the full amount is payable through a secure payment link. Paying in full is what lets us hold the hotels and the winery access, which is the part that makes the route possible at all.

A 35% deposit with the balance due 30 days before departure can be arranged for journeys booked well in advance. That is agreed in writing beforehand; it is not the default.

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking.

Is it worth it

Honestly, it depends what you are comparing it to. A $4,000 small-group Argentina trip is not a cheaper version of this — it is a different product, with fixed dates, shared vehicles and a group.

What this buys is private: your own car, your own guide, no fixed departures, and free days written into the route rather than left over at the end. If none of that matters to you, the cheaper product is the better buy and we would rather say so.

Common questions

How much does a private Argentina tour cost?
Our journeys run from $9,900 to $21,500 per person, based on two travellers sharing, for nine to sixteen days. Larger parties reduce the per-person price because the cost of a guide and vehicle divides across more people. Solo travel is quoted individually.
What is included in the price?
Domestic flights in economy, private transfers and all ground transport, the hotels described in the route, daily breakfast plus the meals listed in the itinerary, all scheduled winery visits and tastings, the welcome asado, the Buenos Aires city tour and tango, and a dedicated Travel Director for the whole journey.
What is not included?
International flights to and from Argentina, meals and drinks not listed in the itinerary, gratuities, personal spending, and optional experiences not in the confirmed itinerary.
Do I pay a deposit or the full amount?
Nothing is charged when you enquire. Once we have confirmed availability and a price, the full amount is payable through a secure payment link — that is what allows us to hold the hotels and winery access. A 35% deposit with the balance due 30 days before departure can be arranged in writing for journeys booked well in advance.
Why is the sixteen-day journey more than twice the nine-day price?
Because the extra week is the expensive week. Nine days covers two regions and one internal flight; sixteen days covers four regions, four internal flights and two separate Buenos Aires stays so the routing works, with a Travel Director for a fortnight. The cost per day is roughly flat — the number of moving parts is not.
Does the price change for a larger group?
Yes, downward per person. A guide and a vehicle cost the same whether two people or six are using them, so the per-person price falls as the party grows.
